About the Role
The External Affairs Manager will support and extend Integer's government engagement strategy by maintaining long-term relationships across state agencies, workforce boards, higher education institutions, and community organizations. This role will also monitor federally funded programs administered at the state level, ensuring Integer is aware of state workforce, infrastructure, and research initiatives supported by federal resources.
This role will work with Integer's research and partnerships team to ensure that Integer is identifying and leveraging state-level incentives for defense technology and engineering companies within the states they operate in. This will include managing state government relations, workforce partnerships, policy monitoring, ecosystem participation, thought leadership, and highly visible corporate citizenship programs that reinforce Integer's long-term commitment to state partners and communities. This requires a strong understanding of community programs, government relations, and an ability to communicate across diverse sets of stakeholders.
Primary Responsibilities
- Support Integer's government relations and economic development efforts by identifying and pursuing state level incentives for defense technology and engineering companies.
- Manage and maintain relationships with state agencies, workforce partners, and higher education leaders in states Integer operates in.
- Represent Integer on workforce boards, advisory councils, and other local groups.
- Develop public facing thought leadership materials on corporate partnership, workforce development, and other initiatives relevant to Integer's activity.
- Support Integer's government relations team on state and federal engagement efforts.
Core Requirements
- Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. DoD Secret Clearance.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, public policy, communications or other relevant field.
- 2+ years of experience with corporate engagement, government relations, communications, or other relevant responsibilities.
- Strong communication, writing, and organizational skills
- Experience working with higher education, state or federal government, and non-profits on policy initiatives.
Additional Desired Qualifications
- Advanced degree in engineering, public policy, communications or other relevant field.
- Experience working with innovative technology companies on communications and government engagement.
