Defense Projects Apprenticeship Program for Second and Third-Year Students at Benedict College
Duration: Starting in Summer 2025 Full-Time (May-August) and School Year Part-Time (August-December, January-May)
Position Title: Resilient Autonomous Systems (RAS) Projects Apprentice
Location: Integer Technologies, LLC | Columbia, SC
Program Overview: This apprenticeship program offers an unparalleled opportunity for second and third-year students at Benedict College to gain hands-on experience working on defense-related projects critical to national security. Throughout the program, students will enhance their industry-relevant skills while maintaining a strong academic performance. As part of the program, students will work on three distinct projects and will be required to present their findings at key milestones in August, December, and May.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Work: Contribute to three different defense-related projects, applying theoretical knowledge to practical challenges in national security.
- Skill Development: Enhance and develop essential skills, including:
- Technical Proficiency: Strengthen your understanding of cybersecurity tools, defense technologies, and project management software.
- Analytical Thinking: Develop your ability to analyze complex problems and devise innovative solutions.
- Communication Skills: Improve your ability to present technical information clearly and persuasively to industry professionals.
- Team Collaboration: Work effectively within cross-functional teams to achieve project objectives.
- Presentations: Deliver three formal presentations on your project work:
- August Presentation: Present your findings and progress from the first project.
- December Presentation: Showcase the outcomes and lessons learned from the second project.
- May Presentation: Deliver a final presentation summarizing the third project and reflecting on your overall experience.

Eligibility:
- Current second or third-year student at Benedict College majoring in cybersecurity, computer science, engineering, or a related field.
- Strong academic performance with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Ability to work 30 hours per week in the summer and 10-20 hours per week during the fall and spring semesters.
